Founder & CEO - Chatiqua Vaughn

There is HOPE for you

Chatiqua Vaughn was born in Nashville, TN and at a very early age moved to Murfreesboro, TN.  She graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2005 with a B.A. in Management of Human Resources.  She has a Master of Arts degree in Counseling and is currently pursuing her PhD in School Psychology.  Ms. Vaughn was the recipient of the Bank of America 2008 Local Hero Award.

She has a tender heart for young people and has been helping youth for several years and even opened her own home to homeless adolescents on several occasions in the past.  Her compassion for helping others derived from having to live out on the streets herself as a teenager.  At the age of fifteen, Chatiqua moved out of her mother's home because of a difficult situation.  While on the streets, Chatiqua faced many obstacles that could have left her in a hopeless state.  Nevertheless, she was determined not to give up on life.  She began working at the age of fifteen and purchased her own vehicle at the age of sixteen.

"Helping other people grow beyond their childhood circumstances has been a passion of mine from my youth. I grew up in poverty and watched my single mother struggle to raise myself and my brothers in the projects.  I know what it feels like to be hungry and homeless as an adolescent.  I have slept on people's porches, moving from house to house with no one to help me.  As a young person, I made a vow to myself that if I were ever in a position to reach out to homeless adolescents, I would give them what I did not have as an adolescent, and that was HOPE.  The staff at Hope Restoration Ministries is dedicated to providing holistic services that can make a difference in the lives of youth and adolescents and support them in achieving independence and fulfilling their fullest potential."

Ms. Vaughn is very active in her local church, serving as the College Ministry President.  Chatiqua gives all the Glory and Honor to the Lord Jesus Christ for, "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."  Lamentations 3:22.   She believes she was placed in this world to be a blessing to those in need.

Chatiqua's passion is to give HOPE...

How We Began

Hope Restoration Ministries began in 2004, when two homeless adolescents from a Napier public housing project called Chatiqua Vaughn, who grew up in Napier, and informed her they were on the streets with nowhere to go.  Ms. Vaughn immediately opened her home to them and supported them until they found a permanent home.  After nurturing the transformation of these two homeless and hopeless teens into hopeful independent young women, Ms. Vaughn vowed to commit herself fully to this work.  Hope Restoration Ministries was incorporated and received 501(c)(3) status in 2007. The ministry continues to expand with more clients, volunteers and community relationships.
